Thanks to a grant from the Community Foundation of Whitley County, the Churubusco Public Library has been pleased to present a summer concert series free of charge for over 10 years. The 2017 dates and musicians were:
Wednesday, June 28, 7:00 PM - "Shepherd's Brass Quintet"
A formal brass quintet, Shepherd's Brass plays traditional quintet arrangements as well as popular tunes of the last century, along with some of the great dance numbers from the 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and later.
Saturday, July 8, 7:00 PM - "Swick and Jones"
Local favorites, "Swick and Jones," are Matt Swick and Garry Jones. Swick and Jones bring together elements of folk, blues, Americana, rock, and pop music for a wonderful blend of music that anyone can enjoy.
Saturday, July 29, 7:00 PM - "Kevin Piekarski Jazz Trio"
Featuring David Streeter, reeds. Kevin has been a fixture on the vibrant Fort Wayne music scene for more than 20 years. He has served as the Assistant Principal Bassist in the Fort Wayne Philharmonic since 1983, while at the same time leading jazz groups of every size. Kevin founded Kevin Piekarski Jazz (formerly Clark Kent Jazz), which has provided quality entertainment to northeast Indiana for over 25 years. Visit his website for more information and events!
