Level Up at Your Library!

The 2025 Summer Reading Program theme is "Level Up at Your Library!" Registration begins May 27, with the program running from June 2 through July 31.
The program encourages readers of all ages to level up their reading and other skills. The program kicks off Tuesday, June 3, at 10:00 AM with game of life-sized Candyland! A schedule of activities is below; crafts will be on Mondays at 3 PM, activities for younger children will be on Tuesdays at 10 AM, activities for older children and teens will be on Thursdays at 10 AM, and movies on Fridays at 3 PM. The program will conclude on Tuesday, July 29th.

Guidelines
For children ages 12 and under, minutes read (or minutes read to) will be recorded.
  • For every 10 minutes read, an object will be colored in on the reading verification sheets.
  • Each sheet represents 100 minutes.
  • Attending a Summer Reading Program event is equivalent to 30 minutes of reading
  • A total of 300 minutes (or 3 sheets) need to be completed before the child will be eligible for the final prize and to be entered into the GRAND PRIZE drawings.
  • Names drawn in the Grand Prize drawing will be contacted on July 29 and must accept the prize by the end of the day to win
  • Reading challenges will be available for up to 3 more entries into the grand prize drawings.

Teens ages 13-17 will also track time read for a chance to win prizes, free books, and a grand prize. 
  • Every 10 minutes read will be marked on a game board
    • Alternately, mark two spaces on the game board for every book read
  • Every 10 spots (100 minutes/5 books) earns a prize
  • Teens can alternately complete reading challenges to win prizes and entries to the grand prize drawing

Adults can also track time read for a chance to win prizes, free books and a grand prize
  • Minutes read will be marked on a game board
    • Alternately, every book read will be equal to 30 minutes of reading
  • Earn prizes throughout the board, earn a free book and grand prize for completing the board
  • Adults can alternately complete reading challenges to win prizes and entries to the grand prize drawing

Reading Dragons and Friends
  • New this year: earn trading cards for time read (all ages)
  • Reading Dragons and Friends is a fun way to build positive reading habits! They are collectible playable cards featuring mythical creatures like dragons, unicorns, griffins and more. Children, teens, and even adults track the time they spend reading (whatever they want) in 30 minute increments to earn cards. They can play games with the cards they collect and they can create their own cards.  Earn up to 35 cards for up to 16 hours of reading across a period of 2 months!

​Weekly book drawings will also take place for all ages from June 2-July 29.

300 minutes: Squishy Axolotl, Papa's Place Pan Pizza, & Tin Caps ticket
GRAND PRIZE: Adventure Park certificates, Squishmallow
