Summer Reading Program

A Universe of Stories

The 2019 Summer Reading Program theme is "A Universe of Stories". Registration begins May 31, with the program running from June 7 through August 2.

Guidelines

For children ages 12 and under, minutes read (or minutes read to) will be recorded.
  • For every 10 minutes read, an object will be colored in on the reading verification sheets.
  • Each sheet represents 100 minutes.
  • Attending a Summer Reading Program event is equivalent to 30 minutes of reading
  • A total of 300 minutes (or 3 sheets) need to be completed before the child will be eligible for the final prize and to be entered into the GRAND PRIZE drawings.
  • Child must be present at the closing program to win any of the grand prizes.
  • Reading challenges will be available for up to 3 more entries into the grand prize drawings.

Teens ages 13-18 will be able to track books read for a chance to win free books and a grand prize, and complete reading challenges for a chance to win prizes. 

Adults can track books read or complete reading challenges for a chance to win free books and a grand prize.

​Weekly book drawings will also take place for all ages from June 10-July 29.

300 minutes: Mini-Astronaut & Tin Caps Tickets
GRAND PRIZE: Science Central Gift Certificate
